Every piece of Sofia Ceramics dinnerware is handmade in our South London studio using traditional and modern ceramic techniques. Our plates, bowls, mugs, and serving pieces are shaped, glazed, and fired in house, resulting in subtle variations that make each piece one of a kind.
Designed for both professional kitchens and everyday homes, our ceramics balance beauty and durability. They are made to be used, loved, stacked, washed, and brought back to the table again and again. No shortcuts, just thoughtful craftsmanship with soul.
Yes. All Sofia Ceramics stoneware is dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
Our dinnerware is fired at high temperatures, making it strong enough for everyday use, including busy home kitchens and professional environments. We believe beautiful ceramics should fit into real life, not require special treatment.
Stoneware offers the perfect balance of strength, weight, and warmth. Our handmade stoneware plates and bowls are durable, resilient, and designed to last, while still bringing an artisanal feel to the table.
Because stoneware holds heat well and feels substantial in the hand, it enhances both the dining experience and the longevity of each piece. It is practical, timeless, and quietly luxurious.
Caring for your Sofia Ceramics dinnerware is refreshingly simple. All pieces can go straight into the dishwasher.
Like all stoneware, occasional light cutlery marks may appear over time. These are purely superficial and can be easily removed using a gentle scouring powder such as Bar Keepers Friend or a baking soda paste. Think of them as signs of a well loved table.
No. All Sofia Ceramics glazes are food safe and free from lead and harmful heavy metals.
We take great care in sourcing and testing our materials to ensure every plate, bowl, and mug is safe for daily use. Our ceramics are made to hold food, stories, and moments, not chemicals.

Restock timing depends on whether the piece is part of our core ceramic collection or a more limited run, as well as our current production schedule for restaurant orders.
The best way to stay updated is to sign up for restock notifications on the product page. You will receive an email as soon as the piece becomes available again.
We also have a Restock Explainer page that offers more insight into how our handmade ceramics are produced and when specific items are likely to return.
